How does it work
The Lexmark Document Distributor adds workflow automation
to a multifunction device and consists of three complementary
components that can be used together or separately.
The Lexmark ScanBack utility is a Windows application
that provides users with a single interface for scanning
a document back to their workstations. This function enables
easy conversion from paper to digital for fast electronic
processing.
The Lexmark Image Manager is a Windows based application
for manipulating and editing images scanned to the PC.
It allows documents which are already in digital format
to be processed.
The Lexmark Document Server is the heart of the document
distribution system. It receives documents from the Lexmark
multifunction device or from the Image Manager and processes
them by converting the file format or performing business
logic or OCR. Business logic allows you to perform different
tasks dependant on user input. It then distributes your
document based on a customisable script. The script lets
you define multiple destinations, file types, protocols
and output devices for every document. Simply activate
the script by pushing a button via the Lexmark MFP operator
panel, and let the Document Distributor take care of the
rest. Document retention and notification are also functions
of LDD. You can scan a document to a central location and
notify concerned parties of its arrival. It can be then
retrieved for further processing. |
